West Central Arts Fest and Home Tour
Last years performance at West Central has been so talked about among the drummers that everyone wants to perform this year. The setting, the atmosphere of community and the audience joining in were incredibly fun and what keeps us coming back for more. We will be performing Sunday on Union St. between Wayne and Berry, right in the midst of the popular West Central Home Tour. We will be performing at lunchtime from 12:00-12:30. Its the perfect time to sit under the many mature trees and relax and have lunch or just let the spirit of the Arts Fest inspire you to imagine the people and social gatherings that took place in this beautiful neighborhood through the years.
Taste of the Arts
Our summer wouldn’t be complete without a performance at A Taste of the Arts! This unique event is a great way to spend the day so block off the day to treat yourself. Fort Wayne Taiko will be performing from 1:00-1:30 PM at the plaza and always look forward to seeing and talking to our audience.

Cherry Blossom Festival
The Cherry Blossom Festival usually kicks off our festival season and is always a favorite because Spring is in the air, it’s a chance to mingle with the crowd during the demo and participation hour and because we get to drum together and perform for our wonderful audience.

12:30-1:00 Plaza Performance
4:00-5:00 Freimann Square Demo and Participation
Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It’s back to work we go!
Thursday, March 11th, 2010
Fort Wayne Taiko members have been hard at work preparing for Knock on Wood IV. New material, costuming, themes, and set ideas are under way as well as a new venue in the Downtown Library Auditorium. In February, we were lucky enough to have John Yost, of Kaiju Daiko, back in the Fort for a 5-hour workshop and another new and exciting piece of music to explore. This one is an original composition by John that his group performed at our 2008 concert. So the metronomes have come out again and members are being frustrated (and humbled) by that tiny piece of equipment. But its all worth it as we prepare for all the summer festivals and culminate with Knock on Wood IV on Nov 20, 2010.
